How To Prepare Your RV For Summer Travels

Summertime is a great time to take a road trip in your RV. However, you need to make sure that your RV is ready for the trip. Here are some tips to get your RV ready for summer.

1. Inspect Your RV’s Tires

When it comes to an RV good ole fashioned check-up, an inspection of your RV’s tires should be at the top of your list. Not only will this help you avoid a blowout while you’re on the road, but it will also help improve your fuel economy. Ensure that your tires are properly inflated and that there is no visible damage, such as cracks or cuts. If you’re unsure how to properly check your tires, you can always take them to a professional. Also, check the spare tire and make sure that it is properly inflated.

2. Check the Batteries

Another important thing to do before you hit the road is to check the batteries in your RV, including the engine battery and the house batteries. If any of these batteries is low, it could cause problems while you’re on your trip. Confirm that both batteries are fully charged and that there are no loose connections.

3. Examine Fluid Levels in Your RV

Before you head out on your trip, you’ll also want to check your RV’s fluid levels. This includes the engine oil, transmission fluid, coolant, and brake fluid. These are all critical fluids that help keep your RV running smoothly. If any of these fluids are low, it could cause problems while you’re on the road. Make sure to add more before you hit the road.

4. Check Your RV’s Lights

All the lights on your RV should be in working order before hitting the road. This includes the headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals. Not only do you need to make sure that all of the lights are working, but you also need to ensure that they are clean. If any lights are burnt out, replace them before heading out.

5. Clean Your RV Inside and Out

One last thing you should do before making that trip is to give your RV a good cleaning — inside and out. Not only will this make your trip more enjoyable, but it will also help you avoid any problems down the road. Make sure to clean all the surfaces in your RV, including the floors, walls, and ceilings. Also, vacuum all the upholstery and carpeting. Outside, wash your RV’s exterior and make sure to clean the windows. By taking the time to clean your RV before your trip, you’ll be able to enjoy it much more when you’re on the road.

These are just a few things you need to do to get your RV prepared for the season. By taking care of these things before you hit the road, you’ll be able to enjoy your trip much more. And, you’ll also be able to avoid any problems that could occur while you’re on your journey. So, start getting your RV ready for the summer season today!
