What To Pack in Your Car for a Safe Road Trip

Here at Emergency Response LLC, we want people to know about the road trip necessities just in case they run into any on-road emergencies. These types of incidents are more common than you might think, and there is a great deal of danger in not having a roadside emergency kit or other supplies that can help you obtain the assistance that you require right when you need it. With this in mind, we want to look at some of the essentials you may need to keep yourself safe while on the road.

The Basics

There is no doubt that you will always need to carry some basics with you that are designed to help ensure your safety and your adherence to the law at all times. If you can keep these types of things on you, you will surely have a better driving experience.

A few of the items to always have with you include:

  • Driver’s license
  • Proof of insurance
  • Car owner’s manual
  • AAA membership
  • Extra set of keys

Having these things with you shows that you are prepared for the types of challenges that taking a road trip could throw at you. You may even decide that you want to add a few extra things that can also come in handy depending on the emergency that you run into.

Emergency Items

There are some extra preparedness items that you will want to keep handy if you are expecting to face certain conditions that you might not have anticipated. For example, you may want to look at holding on to the following:

  • Tire chains
  • Ice scraper
  • Shovel
  • Wiper fluid
  • Jug of coolant

These are the things that most people do NOT keep handy when they are traveling. They just don’t think about how these items might be useful, and they are less than prepared. However, if you have these things on hand when something happens to you, you are much more likely to be in a great position to keep yourself safe when a tragic situation strikes.

Don’t Forget These Items

A few other items are always nice to have, whether traveling across the country or just across town. In either case, you will still need to keep yourself safe and prepared, and that means looking at keeping a few extras around that can help you get the assistance that you require in an emergency situation.

For example, you might want to look at the following as potentially useful options for yourself:

  • Smartphone
  • Portable charger
  • Hands-free mount
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Toilet paper

This will keep you a little more comfortable and healthy if you get stopped in a situation that could cause you to lack access to some of the resources you are accustomed to having available. This can help you out significantly when you are in need.
